Company Dancers

Darcy Harrington began her dance training with Judy Coleman in Midland, Texas, performing with the newly-formed Midland Festival Ballet. She attended many summer programs, such as Milwaukee Ballet, Ballet Austin, and City Ballet of San Diego, on scholarship, studying with dance notables such as Paloma Herrera, Zippora Karz, and David Howard. She attended Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance. Darcy has danced professionally with several companies, including Kentucky Ballet Theatre, California Ballet, and Peninsula Ballet Theatre. She is now the cofounder and director of Georgetown Ballet.

Kelley Hashemi is from Little Rock, Arkansas where she began her training at the Academy of Ballet Arkansas.  She attended summer programs including those at the American Ballet Theatre in New York City, Royal Winnipeg Ballet, The Juilliard School, and Houston Ballet.  She enrolled at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts after high school.  While there Kelley participated in Nutcracker performances as a student with the Jose Mateo Ballet Theatre and in various interdisciplinary works with MIT Theater Arts professor Jay Scheib.  She graduated with a Bachelors of Science in engineering and a concentration in dance. After college Kelley moved to Austin to pursue graduate engineering work at the University of Texas.  She continues to work toward her Ph.D. and takes classes at Ballet Austin.

Alexandra Gemma-Grace Vidaurri began her dance career in Bakersfield, California. At the age of 4 she started dance and musical theater training at Linda Larma's Academe of Dance. She continued Ballet training with Kathy Correa at Dancers' Workshop. In 2008, Alex moved to Texas and trained in ballet, pointe, jazz, contemporary and lyrical with Ms. Lisa Shoup-Rathbone at Performing Arts Studio in Georgetown. She has participated in numerous conventions, productions, and has competed in many dance competitions and showcases, earning high awards as ballet soloist and with her dance teams. Now a freshman at Southwestern University, Alex is an active member of Southwestern's Dance Team. She is majoring in Psychology & Kinesiology with a dance application minor and has plans to incorporate dance technique and movement in therapy. An avid tennis play for the last 10 years, Alex also coaches at the Georgetown Tennis Center while pursuing her USTA Pro coaching certification. This is Alex’s second season with Georgetown Ballet and first as a company dancer. She is excited to be performing in Nutcracker again!

Corrie Newman is currently a senior at the University of Texas and is majoring in Communication Studies and minoring in Dance. She started dancing at age 3 in Brenham, Texas, and has been studying jazz, tap, and ballet ever since. Corrie performed in several musicals and plays while in high school, her favorite roles included Rapunzel in Into the Woods and Ethel Savage in The Curious Savage. She spent the past summer as a dance demonstrator for the Texas Musical Theatre Workshop, where she had the opportunity to be a dance assistant to several Broadway professionals. For the past five summers, Corrie has traveled to New York City to train with the Radio City Rockettes at the Rockettes Summer Intensive, and she plans to attend again this summer.

Richard Mendoza is from El Paso, Texas and has been living in Austin since July of 2014.  He moved to Austin to become an artist and is taking the necessary steps to accomplish his dream. He’s a musician, an actor, a writer, as well as an amateur dancer and photographer.  His first play in theater took place in the seventh grade and then he decided to venture off in to music. Later, he decided to return to acting and began taking classes for a year before venturing off on his own.  He then decided to move to Austin and pursue his passions to becoming an artist.  He’s thankful for the opportunities that have come his way and looks forward to many more fun projects.
